Mentored by his father Doug—who founded the company in 1993—Michael has spent the past five years honing his expertise in integrated design, working closely with architects, builders, and energy advisors to deliver systems tailored for comfort and cost-effectiveness. John Godden built his first R-2000 home 3 decades ago and has been educating and challenging builders to raise the bar on building performance ever since.
He has done energy rating for R-2000, ENERGY STAR, EnerGuide, LEED and Better Than Code programs. John was involved in the introduction of the ENERGY STAR labeling program. Through work
John Godden built his first R-2000 home 3 decades ago and has been educating and challenging builders to raise the bar on building performance ever since.
He has done energy rating for R-2000, ENERGY STAR, EnerGuide, LEED and Better Than Code programs. John was involved in the introduction of the ENERGY STAR labeling program. Through workshops like the Savings by Design program, he educates builders and city building officials in Ontario with respect to energy performance and the building code.
John is a member of OHBA, HRAI and CaGBC, LEED Canada for Homes and RESCON. He is the president of Clearsphere, the founder of the Sustainable Housing Foundation and a Canadian HERS provider. He co-founded the Cross Border Challenge, which has engaged builders to label over 15,000 homes and increase the performance of their homes.
