Timothy’s family has a Land Development and Home Building Company in Ottawa, where they build 50-100 energy efficient homes every year using the Better than Code Home rating program. Previously Campanale Homes built Energystar Homes and has since been striving for more energy efficiency currently they build on average 20% better than OBC 2017. Timothy attended the University of Guelph for a Commerce Degree specializing in Real-Estate and Housing where he gained a lot of his knowledge in sustainable development. He currently works as the Contracts and Estimating Manager for Campanale Homes, where he also handles the energy efficient design of the homes with Better than Code as the Rater and energy modeler. Recently Timothy has done his courses and tests to become an Accredited Energy Modeler recognized by CRESNET and is moving forward to gain more knowledge on the sustainable building practices. Tim joined the Board in 2021.
Antony is an Independent Energy Evaluator working in the Toronto region. Antony is Chair of CRESNET's Quality Assurance Committee. He joined the CRESNET Board in 2015.
Moti is an independent energy evaluator working in the greater Toronto area. He joined the CRESNET Board in 2017.
Paul has over 25 years of experience in the downstream segment of the oil and energy industry with multinational oil companies. He is focused on advancing environmental policies through the use of cost-effective biodegradable and biomass products made with recycled and renewable technology that complies with international eco-friendly labels and programs. Paul has extensive experience in the infrastructure, marine and residential construction industries and has been involved in a number of major infrastructure projects, including the Eglinton Crosstown LRT and the New Champlain Bridge.
Paul has transitioned to the residential construction industry as a sales rep. Paul joined the Board in 2018.
Gerald Van Decker, P.Eng., M.A.Sc. serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director of RenewABILITY Energy Inc. Mr. Van Decker has worked for Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), where he was involved in project management and research and development activities in the field of Solar Heating Technologies. In July 2000, he left NRCan to start RenewABILITY Energy Inc. which is a developer of cost effective energy saving solutions for institutional, commercial, industrial and residential customers around the world. Gerald joined the CRESNET Board in 2018.
Gord is President of Building Knowledge Canada. There are few professionals in Ontario that can match Gord Cooke’s broad knowledge of the inner workings of a house. Highly regarded in the Ontario homebuilding industry, Gord is a professional engineer, trainer, author, and industry consultant. For over 35 years, Gord has helped builders and HVAC contractors implement innovative technologies and build better homes. He is an effective and passionate educator and advocate for better building practices, improved indoor air quality, and energy efficiency.
David is a an energy evaluator who runs his own company in Newmarket, ON- Gallagher System Group. He joined the Board in 2019.
With over 15 years in the construction industry Tara has worked as an architectural technician, HVAC designer and a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) designer. She has completed her BCIN for HVAC and has many qualifications through HRAI. She currently works full time for Girard Engineering, and has started her own business, Ambient Energy Designs which offers residential HVAC designs and energy modelling using the HERS rating system. Tara joined CRESNET in 2021.
John Godden built his first R-2000 home 3 decades ago and has been educating and challenging builders to raise the bar on building performance ever since.
He has done energy rating for R-2000, ENERGY STAR, EnerGuide, LEED and Better Than Code programs. John was also very involved in the introduction of the ENERGY STAR labeling program. Through workshops like the Savings by Design program, he educates builders and city building officials in Ontario with respect to energy performance and the building code.
John is a member of OHBA, HRAI and CaGBC, LEED Canada for Homes and RESCON. He is the president of Clearsphere, the founder of the Sustainable Housing Foundation and a Canadian HERS provider. He co-founded the Cross Border Challenge, which has engaged builders to label over 15,000 homes and increase the performance of their homes. Lastly, he is the acting technical director of CRESNET.
Paul is the Principal Consultant for Paul Duffy & Associates. He is a Founding Member of CRESNET and has held various positions on the Board over the years. Paul is a professional engineer who has been involved over the last 35 years in designing, implementing and practicing energy efficient design and the building science behind measuring building performance.
